Improving access to high-quality services that support the health and well-being of Boone County youth (ages 0-19) and their families.
FACE Community Team’s mission is to connect youth and families to high quality community resources that help meet their specific needs such as…
Accessing Basic Needs
Counseling
Parenting Support
After School Activities
Any Other Desired Community Resource
A key aspect of our mission is the reduction of juvenile arrest rates and crime, juvenile recidivism, and disproportionate minority contact with juvenile courts.
A core value at FACE is to embody compassion and kindness in all that we do. In every single interaction with families, we provide warm, genuine support and help them connect to the resources they need. The past few years have raised many challenges and each family has a personal, unique story to share.
We are all in this together. We care about what families are going through.
At FACE, we want families to know there is hope as they access helpful resources. We also support families in addressing barriers preventing them from accessing needed resources. We are honored to walk alongside families through their journey and love to celebrate with them as their needs are met!
Our History
FACE exists due to the passionate hearts of Boone County citizens and their dedication to ensuring our children’s social and emotional needs are being met.
2012
The citizens of Boone County voted and passed Proposition 1, an initiative advocated by Putting Kids First that created the Children’s Services Fund. The Boone County Community Services Department oversees and coordinates this fund that supports FACE’s good work as well as other community programs that support the mental health needs and well-being of our children.
FACE officially opened its doors and began providing services.
2016
2020
FACE of Boone County and the Boone County Schools Mental Health Coalition merged under one umbrella to support Boone County youth and their families! This merger strengthened . . our ability to work in unison with the schools to wrap support around families.

I was born and raised in Boone County and graduated from Hallsville High School. I strongly desire to give back to our community – one that has offered my family decades of opportunity and support. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in evidence-based trauma therapies for children, youth, and adults. My educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Evangel University in Springfield and a master’s in Guidance & Counseling from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. I have dedicated my professional life to supporting homeless youth and families in crisis for over 21 years, hoping to help others realize their resiliency and strength. Since 2016, I’ve been blessed to work alongside our fantastic team at FACE, whose values align with my own – supporting the health and well-being of youth and families! Outside work, my family and I enjoy all things outdoors, such as fishing, hiking, and gardening.

I have been helping others for as long as I can remember. I was always that person that others would gravitate towards when facing challenges. From an early age I was determined to live out my passion for serving others by helping them solve their problems to improve their well-being. I have lived in Boone County since I was six months old. I attended Columbia Public Schools and am a proud Kewpie alumni. I earned my bachelor’s in psychology and master’s in social work from the University of Missouri–Columbia. My work experience ranges from providing case management services to counseling CPS students as an Outreach Counselor. I joined the community side of FACE of Boone County in August 2018, exactly one year after opening its doors. At FACE, I provided case management services to families before moving into a supervisory role. As an LCSW, I love supporting FACE staff and Boone County families in our community as they make hard decisions to overcome obstacles to improve their lives. When not working, I can spend time with my family, gardening, and camping in the mountains.

I have worked with a diverse population of individuals in Boone County over the course of 28 years in the realm of social services and community engagement. I find it a pleasure to advocate and strengthen families in Columbia by providing workshops that encourage healing and support to individuals in recovery or coping with mental health concerns. Devara Brock-Stevens
Though originally from St. Louis, I have spent most of my adult life moving – thanks to serving my country in the United States Army. Thankfully, I have put down roots here in Boone County, where I’ve lived for over twenty years.
I have supported families and individuals who may be struggling with traumas, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, adjustment to life transitions, and familial or relational conflict with a unique and highly specialized perspective.
I am passionate about serving those I work with while providing education to develop skills they can use well into the future. Additionally, I am passionate about creating a space of grace and connections for those I serve to begin their healing journey. I utilize a holistic approach, incorporating modalities that best suit everyone’s needs.
I received my undergraduate degree from St. Louis University before joining the military. While in the military, I received my Master’s degree in Counseling from the University of Georgia. I recently graduated with my doctoral degree in Community Counseling with an emphasis in Trauma from Liberty University.
When not serving the community, I enjoy spa days, traveling, and attending sporting events, specifically the Dallas Cowboys football games!!

I have worked for many years in the nonprofit sector. Being able to help support youth and families in need has always been a passion of mine. In my previous job, I helped start the Community Partnership Program, which helped develop and improve city and county resources for low-income, disabled, and homeless residents. The partnership also started the backpack program in their rural public schools. I was fortunate enough to be responsible for the communication and scheduling for the Economic Security Corporation during the Joplin, MO tornado in 2011. This was to assist families who had been displaced by the tornado or had lost their jobs because the storm took out their employer. This was a very humbling experience. I have a genuine passion and skill set for creating organization and positivity in the workplace. Growing up on a farm in a small rural town in Southwest Missouri, Boone County became our home when we relocated to Ashland in 2012. My husband and I have been married for over 30 years, and we have 3 wonderful children. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, gardening, succulents, making new hot sauces, traveling, and tailgating at Arrowhead!
Terry Pipes

I have over 20 years of experience as a medical office support specialist. My main focus has always been on pediatrics due to my love for children. I genuinely enjoy working with children and their families. I believe that knowledge is the key to success. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, reading, watching football with my husband, and walking.
Jeremy Williams
I was born and raised here in Boone County. In 2012, I moved away, where I discovered a passion for helping others, especially the youth working in a residential facility focused on trauma-informed care and crisis prevention. Through this program, and another that focused on adults and their everyday battles with mental health, I developed skills in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, which I use to help youth in difficult moments. I recently moved back to Boone County and desire to support our community however I can. I have 5 children in my home, with whom I enjoy spending time and doing activities.
Samantha Bartolacci
I have roughly 10 years of healthcare experience working with Oncology, Pediatrics, and Psychiatric patients. I am passionate about helping people, and their families get through difficult times and ensuring they are cared for. I have a degree in Healthcare Administration and am currently in school at Mizzou to become a Social Worker.
When not at FACE, I spend time with my family and friends, traveling, attending concerts, or sporting events.
